Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Why do you charge an administration fee?

Under the guidance and counsel of highly qualified Muslim scholars, IslamicPoetry.org has taken serious precaution to ensure that the use of our financial support is lawful and in compliance with the principles of Islamic jurisprudence. We derive our support from the following sources:

  • Donations
  • Sponsors’ Advertising
  • Entry Fees for the Poetry Competition

Funding for prizes will be derived strictly from donations and advertising from sponsors. Monies from entry fees will be used towards website development and procuring services, advertising, administration costs of the competition, and payments to judges and volunteers, if required. We have established a nominal entry fee to prevent people from using this portal as a means to express adverse opinions about out beloved Messenger, Allah bless him and give him peace. By no means will any money from the entry fee pool be used to fund prizes.

Q2. What if I am unable to pay the entry fee?

Since or main purpose is not to make a profit from the entry fee, please click here to contact us with your circumstances and we waive the fee after we have conducted our due diligence.

Q3. Why do you not just use the submision fee for the prizes?

The suggestion to use the fee for the prizes is a practical one and would alleviate many hurdles for us. Unfortunately though, from an Islamic legal stand point, it was found to be clearly impermissible since it would bring this competition under the model of gambling prohibited in the Qur’an. This is because some people will be paying into something from which only a few will benefit monetarily. This is the decision of our board of scholars. Along with the scholars on our administration board we also consulted other scholars to develop this system.
